Evaluating a Report for USPAP Compliance

This 4-hour seminar is designed to help lending professionals become familiar with and understand the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and their relevance in, and applicability to, the lending process. The seminar will also facilitate a better understanding of a real property appraiser's USPAP-related obligations in an assignment and will enable underwriters to better evaluate an appraisal report for USPAP compliance.  This program is not intended to provide training for those performing appraisal review (as defined in USPAP) assignments. 

Intro to Terms and Concepts of USPAP

This 4-hour seminar is intended to equip state regulators with a better understanding of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and their relevance in, and applicability to state enforcement programs.   It will also facilitate a better understanding of real property appraisers’ USPAP related obligations in an assignment and will provide the regulator with knowledge to better evaluate an appraisal report for USPAP compliance.  This program is not intended to provide training for those performing appraisal review (as defined in USPAP) assignments, nor is it meant to replace the USPAP publication itself. The course serves as an enhancement to understanding the flexibility and practicability of USPAP as it relates to real property valuation.

Residential Review and USPAP Compliance

This 7-hour seminar focuses on appraisal review assignments and the effect USPAP has on these assignments, reviewers, and the work of appraisers involved in the assignments. This seminar is designed to provide real property appraisers with a better understanding of USPAP in conjunction with producing appraisal reviews that are USPAP compliant, and to provide additional guidance to those appraisers whose work is being reviewed. Ideally, the review process should raise the level of professionalism among appraisers, and encourage them to produce better appraisal reports. In addition to lectures, the seminar includes discussion to show how USPAP applies in situations that appraisers encounter when completing residential appraisal review assignments.
